Mia Zhong
Sociology and Demography PhD

Mia Zhong received her Ph.D. degree in sociology and demography from UC Berkeley in 2024 and two masters’ degrees in these two disciplines. She is a full-time lecturer at the People, Work and Employment department of Leeds University Business School. Prior to that, she worked as a quantitative researcher in an ESRC-funded project “Young Women’s Working Lives” at City, University of London.
In most of her research she applies quantitative research methods to answer questions in the intersection of labour, work, family, and gender. She has a solid background in statistical analysis, demographic methods, and social network analysis and at the same time, she adopts mixed method approaches in research projects related to “sharing labour” on digital platforms.
